ROCKVILLE, MD — The Mechanical Contractors Association of American (MCAA) has announced that it will begin offering a seminar examining the cumulative effects of change orders on labor productivity for mechanical contractors.

The course will be taught by Dr. Awad Hanna of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

MCAA says that the program is a result of a research study titled Quantifying the Cumulative Impact of Change Orders for Electrical and Mechanical Contractors, which was funded by the Mechanical Contracting Foundation.

Dr. Hanna served as a principal investigator for the project and says the seminar will be beneficial for “supervisors, senior project managers, department heads, project engineers, controllers, and anyone else who wants to learn successful strategies for the prompt recovery of change order costs.”

MCAA says that Hanna is interested in working with affiliates of the organization in planning these seminars because they use a workshop-type format.

“I can and will work with individual companies if they have at least 20 of their own employees to fill a class,” said Hanna.

For more information on the class, contact Hanna at 800-556-3653 or hanna@engr.wisc.edu (e-mail).
