CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - Delmar, a part of Cengage Learning and a leading publisher of technical education books, has announced the release of the first book in its HVACR series as part of a publishing collaboration with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC) Educational Foundation, and Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES).

HVACR 101 is designed to guide entry-level technicians and first-year students through their first experiences in the HVACR trade. The book is said to provide a solid and thorough introduction to the field. Coverage includes main systems and components, as well as complex procedures, such as scheduled maintenance, installation and repair, and customer service.

This title is the first to release in this four-year program for HVACR. A total of nine titles in the series will cover basic skills, math, equipment, installation, troubleshooting, service and repair, systems design, and more. Coverage will range from novice level to HVACR professional. Delmar plans to promote the books across a broad spectrum of educational and professional markets.

“These textbooks for students and professionals will be written in accordance with industry driven, real-world curriculum and will be accompanied by useful instructor supplements containing an instructor’s manual, image library, PowerPoint® slides, and an electronic test bank,” said Ed Francis, product development manager at Delmar.

HVACR 201, 301, and 401 will be published in 2009, covering content from electrical, heating, motors, and cooling, to troubleshooting and installation procedures.
