MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. - Grainger and approximately 700 attendees opened a newly relocated Madison Heights location with a community open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

According to the company, the new, larger location, which is approximately two miles from its previous address, will offer customers more products at a more convenient location so that local businesses can quickly get the supplies they need to keep their facilities up and running. Customers who use the new Madison Heights branch will have access to approximately 26,000 products, including HVAC equipment, in stock and available the same day.

Also during the event, the company awarded a Grainger Tools for TomorrowSM scholarship to Henry Ford Community College student Rola Majed.

The Tools for Tomorrow scholarship, designed to help students in the technical trades realize their educational goals, is one in a series of scholarships Grainger is awarding across the country. The scholarship recognizes outstanding students with a scholarship for their second year of schooling and a specialized Westward® tool package upon successful completion of the student’s technical education program. This is the second year Grainger has partnered with Henry Ford Community College to support local students.

“Grainger has been serving business customers in the Detroit area for more than 70 years, and we’re proud to continue to grow and invest here,” said Paul Dowd, district branch services manager, Grainger. “Today we’re not only celebrating the opening of our new facility, we’re continuing our tradition of supporting technical education by partnering with Henry Ford Community College in our Tools for Tomorrow scholarship program.”
