Emerson To Help A&P

ST. LOUIS — Emerson Climate Technologies announced that the company has entered into an agreement with A&P to help the grocery chain improve energy efficiency at 200 stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Delaware.

The stores operate under the A&P, Super Fresh, Waldbaum’s, and Super Food Mart names. A&P plans to expand the energy efficiency program to additional stores in the future.

Under the agreement, Emerson technicians will conduct energy audits and equipment tuneups to improve the operating efficiency of each store’s HVACR and lighting.

According to Emerson, its energy efficiency program, called

E-Commissioning, can help a supermarket shave its power usage 4 percent to 9 percent.

Through its Atlanta-based monitoring center, Emerson will also provide continuous remote monitoring of each location’s equipment under a two-year contract.

“Our unique process for improving store efficiency and maintaining the results through our monitoring technology delivers real energy cost savings and product safeguard benefits for our supermarket customers and their shoppers,” said Tom Bettcher, Emerson executive vice president and business leader of Emerson Climate Technologies.
