AEGIS SGR™ Bearing Protection Rings™ extend the lives of motors controlled by variable-frequency drives (VFDs), says the company. They prevent electrical bearing damage by safely channeling harmful shaft voltages away from the bearings to ground. Using proprietary Electron Transport Technology™, the conductive micro fibers inside the rings provide the path of least resistance and dramatically extend motor life, according to the company. The rings are rated to discharge 10 A of high-frequency current. They can be installed on fractional- to 1,000-hp motors. Options include standard mounting brackets, split ring, bolt-through mounting, press fit mounting, and National Electrical Manufacturers Association-International Electrotechnical Commission (NEMA-IEC) mounting kits.
