ALBANY, NY – The Building Performance Contractors Association (BPCA) has announced Certification Training for the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Raters in New York. The dates for the training are June 26-28th at the Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corp. in Fishkill, NY.
Those who pass the HERS exam at the end of the training are qualified as a “Home Energy Rater,” allowing them to inspect homes for approval into the Energy Star Program. The responsibilities of a HERS rater; How to successfully sell services to builders, homeowners, real estate agents, and bankers; Energy-efficient mortgages; How to use REM/Rate software; How to perform a HERS rating; and The program requirements for New York Energy Star homes.
