Design modifications to the company’s Ice Bank® tanks for thermal energy storage (TES) provide construction and maintenance savings as well as energy savings, says the company. The Models 1500C, 1320C, and 1190C feature modular, internalized main headers under the cover of each tank. The new internal headers can be readily configured in the field to reduce field piping and insulation, the company says. As a result of the new headers, the tanks’ installed footprint is approximately 20% less than their predecessors, says the manufacturer.
