BOMA Launches Internet-Based Seminar

WASHINGTON, DC — The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International has launched an online seminar called “Building Security and Evacuation Planning.” BOMA teamed up with Globel eSeminars to create the Internet-based training program.

According to BOMA, since Sept. 11, the demand for security by the commercial real estate industry, building tenants, and the general public is greater than ever before. The organization also says that building owners and property managers are facing increased exposure to liability and lawsuits from terrorist acts and other threats. Buildings in high-exposure areas are experiencing higher vacancy rates, while prospective tenants are now considering the quality of a building’s security program before making a lease decision.

BOMA’s seminar is delivered over the Internet using full-motion video, graphics, and audio. Participants can access the program 24 hours a day from anywhere an Internet connection is available.
