Aug. 5, 2002: June Unitary Shipments Up 1%, First Half Shipments Up 5%
ARLINGTON, VA — According to Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) statistics, combined U.S. factory shipments of 879,873 central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps in June are up 1% from June 2001. The combined year-to-date shipment total of 3,915,239 for the first six months is up 5% from the same period last year.
Heat pump shipments included in the June figures of 165,178 units declined 9% from June 2001. The year-to-date total of 842,517 is up 3% from January to June 2001.
