Associations for the Week: May 14, 2001

  • The National Association of Oil Heating Service Mangers (NAOHSM) will benefit from a seminar by Dan Holohan. Holohan, an expert on steam heating, will hold two back-to-back steam heat seminars on August 27 and 28 at the Holiday Inn, King of Prussia, PA. Holohan will forego speaker’s fees, enabling net proceeds to be added to the endowment fund for the Dave Nelsen scholarship fund maintained by NAOHSM. This is the second such seminar Holohan has presented for free to help NAOHSM.
  • Patricia Lupson, executive director of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) National Capital Chapter, recently received a certificate of nomination from Maryland lieutenant governor Kathleen Kennedy Towsend during an awards ceremony held at the Baltimore Convention Center. Lupson received the award for her nomination in the 18th Annual Governor’s Volunteer and Service Awards.

  • The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) recently recognized individuals with legislative awards. Kenneth Enscoe, executive director of SMACNA of Western Pennsylvania, Inc. received the Special Legislative Service Award at SMACNA’s annual legislative awards dinner. Also recognized at the dinner was William Freese, of International Testing and Balancing, in Seaford, NY, who was awarded the Legislative Contractor of the Year award. The Chapter Executive Legislative Advocate of the Year award went to Linda Hughes, executive director of Orange Empire SMACNA. Finally, Dale Barnett of Payson Sheet Metal in Payson, Utah, was honored with a special award for Distinguished Legislative Service.
