Associations for the Week: ARI and SMACNA

An article written by the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute’s (ARI’s) Desiccant Cooling and Dehumidification Equipment Product Section has been sent to 10,000 newspapers throughout the United States through the North American Precis Syndicate (NAPS). The article explains how desiccant systems can save homeowners and businesses money on heating and cooling costs while improving indoor air quality for a more healthful and comfortable environment. ARI notes that past articles like this have generated a lot of press.

The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) has announced the winners of its 2000 Safety Statistics Evaluation and Awards Program (SSEAP). The first-place safety award winners are:

  • 1-25,000 hours: Central Sheet Metal, Inc., San Antonio, TX.
  • 25,001-50,000 hours: Temp-Air Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., La Habra, CA.
  • 50,001-100,000 hours: Tri-State Balancing Co., Royersford, PA.
  • 100,001-200,000 hours: Griffin & Co., Inc., Louisville, KY.
  • 200,001-300,000 hours: Yearout Mechanical & Engineering, Inc., Albuquerque, NM.
  • 300,001-400,000 hours: Kirk & Blum, Cincinnati, OH.
  • 400,001-500,000 hours: University Mechanical, Inc., Tempe, AZ.
  • Over 500,000 hours: Tweet/Garot Mechanical, Green Bay, WI.
