American Standard’s Telephone Access Module for the AccuLink System allows the homeowner and/or dealer to remotely control the operation of the system via a cell phone. It also allows the system to call out if there is a need for routine maintenance or when the system is not performing to standards. The module is an option on American Standard’s Allegiance and Heritage 18 outdoor units and Freedom 95 furnaces. The system uses digital technology to set standard performance criteria. When the system is out of balance with the criteria, the module will call up to three pre-determined phone numbers with an alert message. The homeowner can then alert the dealer or technician, who in turn can use the module to perform additional diagnostics and pinpoint the problem prior to a service call. The technician can then arrive at the jobsite prepared to address the issue and with the parts needed to fix the system.
