47.5 million households (HH) have Central AC units; 54.5 million HH have gas heat. This represents 101 billion KWh or 9.7% of the nation’s total load-1037 billion KWh. The cost is $8.29 B annually. About 3.517 billion cubic feet annually is used for residential gas heat. This is 68.3% of the nation’s total usage (5143 billion feet annually). This costs $24.11billion annually.

Outcome: If the hvacr industry can save 20% of the national electric load through check-ups, we’ll save the consumer and our economy nearly $2 billion annually.
