• HVAC Excellence (Washington) an-nounced Scott Stroh earned the title of Certified Master HVACR Educator.
• The National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) is seeking abstracts for papers for its 2014 annual conference, held April 3-5 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
• RSES (Rolling Meadows, Ill.) introduced Understanding Geothermal Systems, the first title in its RSES Sustainability Series.
• The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Re-frigeration Institute (AHRI) elected Michael Swiderski (below, left) as a 2014 director-at-large. Chris Peel (below, center) and David Regnery (below, right) were selected to serve on the 2013 AHRI executive committee.
• The U.S. Senate (Washington) officially confirmed Dr. Ernest Moniz as the secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
