Zager Installs Solar System at Headquarters
The installation will consist of 46 solar panels mounted to the roof. The panels are designed to withstand wind speeds up to 145 mph. The project will also utilize a performance monitoring system that will show the current and cumulative energy production along with carbon and environmental offsets. The new solar energy system will offset over 20,000 pounds of carbon emissions every year. Zager was able to secure a $20,000 rebate through FPL’s Business Photovoltaic Pilot Project, and utilize a 30 percent federal tax credit to help make the installation cost-effective.
Company leaders see this as an excellent opportunity to lead by example.
“There are a lot of solar installers throughout Florida, however, hardly any have put solar on their office buildings or warehouses,” said Dale Zager, Zager president. “The company hopes the installation will serve as a demonstration piece for the surrounding community and create positive support for solar energy.”
