  • Dina Dwyer-Owens, president and ceo of the Dwyer Group (Waco, TX), whose franchise concepts includes Air Serv Heating and Air Conditioning, has been named to the International Franchise Association's board of directors.
  • SupplySpot.com (Boca Raton, FL), a B2B web portal that focuses on the hvac, plumbing, and mechanical industries, appointed Scott Edwards to its board of directors.
  • Robert G. Berardi was promoted to treasurer of Burnham Corp. (Lancaster, PA).
  • Thermo Products (North Judson, IN) appointed Richard Pierse as the company's marketing manager. Prior to this position, he had worked at York International Corp., where he was the manager of development for programs and publications, and director of communications for Snyder General Corp.
  • United CoolAir Corp. (York, PA) appointed Keith Zimmerman as quality assurance manager to its team of air conditioning specialists.
  • The board of directors of General Filters, Inc. (Novi, MI), installed Carl R. Redner as president. Redner is the great-grandson of the company's founding couple and the second member of his generation of the Redner family to head the company. He will continue his engineering duties while president.
  • Koch Air (Evansville, IN), a Carrier distributor, has hired Dean Holmes as territory manager, western Kentucky, and Bruce Damm as part of the Commercial Sales team.
  • John Van Camp has been appointed business unit manager for the HumiCool Division (Fort Myers, FL) of Munters Corp.
  • Ameren Corp. (St. Louis, MO) has named Linda (Gowan) Nappier manager of information technology enterprise architecture and design, and Charlie Schaeffer manager of technical applications for energy delivery services. He will manage the company's customer service system.
  • Bennett Renfrow, senior safety engineer for the City of Los Angeles, and Marion Holloway, chief boiler inspector for the State of Oklahoma, have been elected members of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel inspectors.
  • BDT Engineering (Fort Worth, TX) has promoted Brett E. Vasseur to president and ceo, replacing G.J. (Hans) Kosten, who has resigned. Other company promotions are: Derrel C. Taylor to chief financial officer, Toby L. Daley to chief operating officer, Jeffrey A. Padrta to vice president of sales and marketing.
  • Air Quality Sciences, Inc. (Atlanta, GA), an IAQ services company, announced that Todd S. Lowenthal has joined the company as indoor air quality product manager, responsible for growth and expansion of IAQ building investigations and laboratory services.
  • Carlos R. "Chuck" Miró has been named director of government affairs for the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Jim Cox, Ph.D., P.E., Fellow ASHRAE, Miró's predecessor, who has overseen ASHRAE's Washington office since it opened in 1981, will now will as the society's senior policy advisor.
  • Arup (New York, NY) has announced the promotion and hiring of several engineers. At the Detroit office, Roy Duncan, mechanical engineer, is now associate director. At the new York office, Raymond Quinn and David Richards, both mechanical engineers, are promoted to senior associate. Maurya McClintock, mechanical and façade engineer, and Tom Watson, mechanical engineer, are promoted to associate.
  • David N. Farr has named chief executive officer of Emerson Electric Co. (St. Louis, MO) and Charles A. Peters was promoted to senior executive vice president and e-business leader. Farr and James G. Berges, president, have been elected to the company's board, and Peters and Galvin were also appointed directors. The office of the chief executive (oce) was formed and consists of Farr; Peters; Berges; and Walter J. Galvin, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
  • PlanetHVAC.com (Redwood City, CA) announced that John S. Cichy, former president and ceo of White-Rodgers Division of Emerson Electric, has joined the company as executive vice president of supplier relations.
  • Arnold "Woody" Woodall has joined W.E. Bowers (Beltsville, MD) as director of business development for the firm's service department.

  • H.E. Rhodes Jr. has been named marketing manager for air conditioning for Noland Corp. (Newport News, VA).
  • Stephen Rudnickas has been elected and Jerry Stoeckinger has been re-elected to the advisory committee of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.
