Obituary: Frederick Kahn

DALLAS — Frederick Eisenberg Kahn, born July 8, 1937, in Paducah, Ky., passed away Oct. 31, 2008. A Dallas resident for more than 50 years, he graduated from Texas A&M University in 1962 as a mechanical engineer.

His passions included the Texas A&M Hillel Foundation, many industry trade associations, and the fact that he is said to have held the first air conditioning license in Texas.

He is survived by his wife Louise; son Josh and daughter-in-law Charlotte; daughter Andrea Cohen and son-in-law Gary Cohen; sister Mickey Kleiman and brother-in-law Richard Kleiman; ex-wife Ann; many nieces and nephews; and five grandchildren.

Memorials can be sent to MPD Foundation; myeloproliferative disorders (MPDs) are a closely related group of hematological malignancies in which bone marrow cells develop and function abnormally.
