HERON, Mont. — HVACReducation.net has announced that Council of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Educators (CARE) members have the opportunity to enroll in free online HVACR and green courses recognized by both North American Technician Excellence (NATE) and the Building Performance Institute (BPI). Each course is designed to address industry competencies and knowledge areas and to prepare individuals for industry certification or licensing exams. According to HVACReducation.net, the catalog of courses is extensive and the continuing education hours may apply toward state teaching certification renewal.

CARE consists of HVACR instructors, administrators, and other HVACR industry personnel from across the United States.

Besides being a CARE member, educators can qualify for the free classes if they meet the following requirements:

• Be an HVACR educator employed by a public or private secondary school, post-secondary institution, industry association, proprietary school, or corporation; and

• Enroll in only one course at a time and successfully complete it within the 60-day enrollment (a few courses are 90 days), with a passing score of 75 percent or higher.

The free enrollment does not cover the cost of an online mentor, but the guidance of a subject matter expert can be obtained for an extra fee per course. It also does not include the textbook, though not all courses require a textbook.

For more information about the courses, go to www.hvacreducation.net. To find out more information about CARE, go to www.carehvacr.org.
