ANAHEIM, Calif. - Rheem Water Heaters is entering the emerging instantaneous hot water market with a pair of on-demand, tankless gas water heaters for residential and commercial applications. Marketed under the trade name Pronto!, these energy-saving units have no standing pilot light and no storage tank, eliminating the need to maintain a large supply of preheated water, says the company.

"Pronto! instantaneous water heaters operate only when there's a demand for hot water," noted Rheem Water Heater vice president of marketing David R. Martin. "Homeowners will save on energy costs because they won't need to maintain a constant 40- or 50-gallon supply of hot water with a standing pilot light.

"Properly sized and installed, these units will efficiently and conveniently supply constant hot water."
