WB Service Co. LLP: Anti-Copper-Theft Device

The Copper-Guard™ is an anti-theft device for commercial and residential outside HVAC units. It is designed to prevent thieves from stealing copper from HVAC units. The custom-built cages are made with 1/4-inch steel frames and expanded metal. The cages are held in place using an earth anchor system when the unit sits on a plastic or composite pad. When the unit is on a concrete slab, power-bolts are used to hold the cages in place. Because the cages are custom-built, they can accommodate most sizes of condensers with higher SEERs. According to the manufacturer, use of this device will not increase the operating pressure or affect operation in any way.
