The Vigilair® Biodefense System combines filtration with ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI). This technology is designed to be implemented inside a building's HVAC system to significantly reduce or eliminate the effects of a bioterrorism attack such as a targeted release of anthrax or smallpox. As it protects against attack, it continuously improves IAQ by capturing and removing airborne pollutants such as mold, bacteria, and viruses. The system employs high-efficiency filtration, UVGI, and other proprietary technologies to provide predictable control of the indoor environment. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has designated this system as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology, in accordance with the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002.
