Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006: Rheem Introduces 13 SEER Units, Air Handlers, 90+ Furnaces

CHICAGO - Rheem Manufacturing Co., Air Conditioning Division, is introducing the new Rheem Classic Series® and Ruud Achiever Series® 13-SEER optimized condensing units. These new high efficiency units are available in both R-22 and R-410A refrigerant models with all-steel, durable, low profile cabinets.

The Rheem Classic RAND and Ruud Achiever UAND feature R-22 refrigerant and can reach capacities up to 15 SEER when matched with an RCFA indoor coil. The RAND and UAND are also available with upgraded options to provide contractors with choices for their markets. The Rheem Classic Series RANL and Ruud Achiever Series UANL feature R-410A refrigerant and can reach capacities up to 16.2 SEER when matched with a RCFL indoor coil. The RANL and UANL are available with options including the standard model and a feature-loaded version complete with high and low pressure controls and easy-start assist components.

The company is also introducing a new line of air handlers designed to give contractors greater comfort and efficiency advantages in warmer climates where a gas furnace is not the preferred home comfort solution. Each air handler model offers contractors a customized choice of options ranging from good to best, based on the homeowners' comfort and budgetary requirements. The top-of-the-line flagships of the new lineup are the Rheem Prestige Series® and Ruud Ultra Series® air handler, which utilize the GE® ECM® motor for soft starts, quiet operation, and improved energy efficiency.

In addition, the company is featuring its high efficiency Rheem Classic® and Ruud Achiever® 90 Plus® gas furnace with Dual Comfort Control®.
