The unit is installed into the home's central ductwork. It plugs into a standard electrical outlet, drawing less energy than a 75-watt light bulb, yet provides 24,000 microwatts of ultraviolet energy, enough to kill 99.9 percent of pathogens based on published ultraviolet susceptibility data, says the company.
The product is designed to be installed simply and cost effectively, the company says, with typical installations by HVAC professionals taking less than 30 minutes.
