Top Newsmakers of 2010

In 2010, as the country continued to weather the fallout from the recession, leaders in HVAC were hard at work to support and sustain the industry. This year’s top newsmakers have tirelessly promoted HVAC from their respective positions. And their efforts have paid off in increased recognition of the industry. Such efforts have ranged from manufacturers working to increase energy efficiency to associations working to bring HVAC issues to the federal legislative level. There has also been a strong push to provide better service and to promote standards for high quality HVAC installation and maintenance.

As a result, our 2010 NEWSmakers have focused on education for both contractors and consumers. And their relentless efforts are certainly worthy of this year-end spotlight.

In this issue you’ll find full feature articles on:

• John Sedine, president of Engineered Heating and Cooling and chairman of the Air Conditioning Contractors Association (ACCA) (see “Persistence Results in New Standards”);

• Chrissy Nardini, president of American Metals Supply Co. and president of Heating, Airdconditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) (see “Nardini Leads HARDI Members”);

• Robert Wilkins, president of Danfoss North America (see “Wilkins Focuses on Energy Efficiency”);

• Jim Abrams, CEO of Clockwork Home Services (see “Abrams Continues to Grow Clockwork”); and
