It was bound to happen. If an idea works, we stick with it. If there is an opportunity to make it bigger and better, we do it. If the idea is beneficial to our readers and their businesses, we continue to tweak it and improve upon it.

That’s why The News has decided to expand our “Work Seekers” program from student applicants only to include all people who are looking to enter (or re-enter) the hvacr trade as field technicians, installers, designers, office staff, etc.

We will continue to give preference to people looking for field service positions, but we want to give as many people the opportunity to enjoy a successful hvacr career as possible. Our trade is very demanding yet very rewarding, and there are many people who have benefited by the exposure they have received through The News.

We’re not just talking out of our hat. One of our success stories can be found in the letter below. Jay Grace of Eureka, Kansas took a shot at sending us his ad and the results have changed his life.

Grace is one example of Work Seeker ad winners who have gotten a job as a result of the ad. Many other Work Seekers advertisers have been contacted by potential employers and are in the interview/negotiation stage.

Work Seekers has even worked “indirectly” too. David Blakeman of Torrance, CA, said he received offers from all over the United States and called Work Seekers a “great success.” He is now employed by Southern California Trane Service and felt that Work Seekers helped him get the job because, “when I mentioned I was part of Work Seekers, it opened up a lot of eyes.”

Some winners contacted by The News have been a little shy, but we’ll send along their stories as soon as we get them.

Great Exposure

Work Seekers is our effort to connect hvacr job seekers with contractors, distributors, or manufacturers.

Anyone can send in his or her ad for consideration. The service is completely free. All you need to do is tell us about yourself (in a very creative way) and what type of job you are seeking. Be sure to include all of the necessary contact information (address, phone, e-mail).

We’ll choose up to four winners each week and run their ads in a special Work Seekers box (as shown in this article).

Each winner will receive a free, one-year subscription to The News and have the opportunity to sell themselves to thousands of businesspeople who read The News and who are actively looking for new staff members.
