MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Tennessee Technology Center's (TTC), Memphis campus, HVACR program was granted accreditation by HVAC Excellence, a national accreditation organization for HVACR programs, after an on-site evaluation. Accreditation is third party evaluation that helps prospective students identify institutions with exemplary HVACR programs. It also assists institutions in determining the acceptability of transfer credits and creates goals for self-improvement and high standards.

TTC was measured against 10 national standards including curriculum, faculty, training, facilities, equipment, safety, student facilities, placement services, and financial aid. The HVACR Technology program prepares students to work in a variety of jobs in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration, training them to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pumps, humidifiers, and electrical and gas heating units. Students also learn the fundamentals of electricity, electric motors, and controls.
