TEC Acquires Excelsior
LANSING, Ill. - Temperature Equipment Corp. (TEC) acquired Excelsior Manufacturing & Supply, a major Midwestern HVAC distributor and sheet metal manufacturer. TEC provides Carrier equipment, controls, parts, and supplies for residential, business, and industrial applications throughout Chicago and surrounding areas.
Excelsior is a privately owned, 128-year-old business with operations in five states - Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, and Minnesota - and will continue to operate independently and separately from TEC. Its seven branches include a facility in Brookfield, Mo., that manufactures sheet-metal components for air distribution systems. The terms of the sale have not been disclosed.
“Excelsior provides an excellent opportunity for growth into multiple states,” said Denis Marino, president and COO at Excelsior.
“Like TEC, Excelsior is a seasoned, independent company with a long history of excellent customer service. It’s a great fit.”
Continuing operations as National Excelsior Co., the supplier will expand the range of HVAC offerings throughout the region via the Day & Night product line, an International Comfort Products brand owned by Carrier Corp. The Day & Night line is designed to offer environmentally sound, energy-saving products at competitive prices, according to the company.
“Excelsior has a very strong history of taking care of its customers,” said Marino. “We are going to make it even stronger.”
