CLEVELAND - Demand in the United States for HVAC equipment is expected to increase 2.4 percent per year to $12 billion in 2007, according to a new study from The Freedonia Group Inc., an industrial market research firm.

The study predicts that the advances will be driven primarily by an expected rebound in nonresidential construction, along with ongoing strength in residential remodeling. Growth will benefit from the replacement of older HVAC systems with new, more efficient systems. According to the study, further gains will be restrained by projected declines in the number of new single-unit housing completions between 2002 and 2007. Competition from imported equipment and maturing markets for many types of HVAC equipment will also restrain demand.

These trends and others are presented in The Freedonia Group study, HVAC Equipment. For purchase information on the study, call Corinne Gangloff at 440-684-9600 or e-mail pr@freedoniagroup.com.
