The CDS line of evaporator control valves features 12-vdc bipolar stepmotors. Because the valves are powered from external controllers, no pilot lines or high- to low-side bleeds are required, translating into increased efficiency for the system, the manufacturer says. Refrigerated case temperatures can be controlled to ±0.1°F, which satisfies temperature control regulations and extends product life, says the company. Fast pulldown after defrost and tight shutoff are additional features of the valves.
