SP34E™ refrigerant is EPA/SNAP listed for use in medium-temperature refrigeration and air conditioning applications. It is a near drop-in replacement for most R-12 applications, from domestic appliances and commercial refrigeration to mobile a/c systems, says the manufacturer. It contains no ozone- depleting substances, no compressor change is required, and it is compatible with mineral oil and PAG oils, the company says. The only component change recommended is a new drier. Compared to other R-12 replacements, it has lower operating pressures and higher efficiencies, says the company.
