The California Energy Commission also announced that it has awarded a grant of $2.5 million to Vallejo, CA, to build a one-megawatt solar power plant. Situated approximately 20 miles north of Oakland, the city will partner with BP Solar (Linthicum, MD) to build the plant. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
