MILWAUKEE — The data gathered by Johnson Controls building automation networks will be available to help building managers make more informed decisions, with the help of specialized software.

Energy Profiler™ software from Energy Interactive, Inc. (EI), Oakland, Calif., will give Johnson Controls customers the ability to perform enhanced load shape and pricing analysis using data gathered over Johnson Controls networks.

In addition, the companies have agreed to develop a software module for Metasys® systems to include energy management features.

Energy Profiler software is said to give users the ability to generate estimated bills and rate comparisons using their load data or billing profiles. It can also show the impact of shifting on-peak use to off-peak periods, and switching rate schedules of energy suppliers.

The software is said to be ideal for real-time pricing program implementation, allowing users to see the effects on their energy bills of changing usage patterns and prices.

“We did a careful search for the load shape and pricing analysis capabilities required in today’s increasingly competitive energy market,” said David Matasek, director of utility services for Johnson’s Controls business, “and found that EI’s products and technologies stand above the rest.”
