PALM DESERT, Calif. - New Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' Association (SMACNA) president Keith Wilson, is totally dedicated to making SMACNA contractors the "Contractors of Choice" according to his recent acceptance speech.

The SMACNA programs that helped make Wilson the business manager he is today have evolved into the Business Management University and graduate program and others.

"Not only did these opportunities open my eyes to what SMACNA had to offer contractors like myself, but it also gave me the chance to talk with many people experienced in our industry," said Wilson. "We compared operations and established relationships and friendships that will last a lifetime."

Miller Bonded Inc., Wilson's company is still guided by many SMACNA products and services he said. "I can't say enough good things about the High-Performing Contractor Program." According to Wilson, "If you want to become a ‘Contractor of Choice' this is the program for you."

Planning is underway for the 2006 Partners in Progress conference in Las Vegas.

"Seeing the Future, Leading the Way" is the theme for the March 30, 2006 program, which will focus on current and future market opportunities for the unionized sector of the industry.

Wilson intends to continue legislation and address political problems. "Next year our technical committees and task forces will continue revising our industry standards on seismic restraint, welding, duct design, air duct test leakage, and indoor air quality," said Wilson.

"It is my goal for SMACNA to offer unparalleled products and services so that SMACNA Contractors are first and foremost the ‘Contractors of Choice.'"
