The H2000 uses hydrogen as a tracer gas to detect leaks. According to the manufacturer, this industrial leak detection instrument is extremely sensitive to hydrogen gas and can be used to detect leaks that are smaller than a bacterium. It uses a mixture of 5 percent hydrogen and 95 percent nitrogen. The hydrogen method detects leaks within seconds, says the company, eliminating the time delay in the helium mass spectrometer method.
