Designed to work with the Trane Precedent™ Series rooftop air conditioner, the SynergyPlus™ energy recovery module is an outdoor air pre-conditioner. It is designed to improve humidity control, using 80% less energy than what is normally required to cool or heat outdoor air, says the manufacturer. The company says that since the unit preconditions the incoming air to the packaged equipment, the required refrigeration capacity can be reduced by as much as 50%.
