RSES, Others Revise NATE Guide

DES PLAINES, IL — The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) released the revised Residential and Light Commercial HVACR Service Technician Reference Manual: A Guide for NATE Certification. The updated manual, cosponsored by RSES, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), North American Technician Excellence (NATE), and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC), is in its second edition. The manual has a new binder format and includes the NATE Knowledge Areas of Technician Expertise (KATEs) for each topic.

The manual is based on the structure of the NATE ACE exams and covers material in the exam’s core and specialty areas, including air distribution, air conditioning, gas heating, oil heating, and heat pumps. Appendices include an HVACR glossary, common equations/equivalents/ conversions, symbols, and many pressure-temperature charts.

To obtain a copy of the manual, call 847-297-6464 or visit the website at www.rses.org.
