MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Honeywell announced that its Genetron® Performax™ LT refrigerant for supermarket refrigeration has received Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Classification. Having a UL Classification means that UL will conduct unscheduled factory follow-up visits to verify that Performax LT continues to meet the applicable requirements. Performax LT is also approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under its Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP). It has an A1 American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) safety rating, and is non-ozone depleting. Having a UL Classification means that UL will conduct unscheduled factory follow-up visits to verify that Performax LT continues to meet the applicable requirements.
Performax LT refrigerant, also known as R-407F, is specifically designed to replace R-22, an ozone-depleting hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) that is being phased out under the Montreal Protocol. It can be used in R-22 retrofits as well as in new supermarket installations.
