According to the manufacturer, Acid Away® provides a unique approach to preventing compressor burnouts by neutralizing acid buildup occurring in refrigeration oils in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The formula chemically treats air conditioning and refrigeration systems that have acid remaining from a compressor burnout, or operating systems that are showing a buildup of acid content. Acid Away is now available in a 1-ounce dose. This dose size for small compressors (systems with compressor oil capacity up to 32 ounces) eliminates measuring and waste.
