CUSTOMER: The Ascent at Roebling’s Bridge, Covington, Ky.

OBJECTIVE: Overcome creative structural challenges to maintain efficient and comfortable environments in each condominium.

DESCRIPTION: The Ascent at Roebling’s Bridge, a 22-story, crescent-shaped building located in Covington, Ky., is a 64-unit luxury condo tower with a curved floor plan and ascending roof. To meet the building’s architectural challenges, Cincinnati’s Commercial HVAC, a Cincinnati design-build firm, selected a water-source heat pump HVAC system. The contractor installed two Taco KV pumps for the boilers that serve the primary loop, and two Taco FI Series pumps that provide distribution through the heating loop to serve the high-efficiency, self-contained heat pumps for each unit. The contractor also installed Taco’s 4900 Series air/dirt separator and a Taco plate and frame heat exchanger that separates the boiler and building systems.
