FALLS CHURCH, VA — The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC) says that it has been working with several Congressmen to address concerns over the Public Utility Holding Company Act (PUHCA) repeal legislation. According to the association, a comprehensive electricity measure that would include repealing PUHCA could be introduced some time in early September.
PHCC says that it will advocate any legislation repealing PUHCA to include measures to protect contractors from unfair utility competition. The organization has discussed the issue with Reps. Steve Largent (R-OK), Tom Sawyer (D-OH), Christopher Cox (R-CA), and Tom Barrett (D-WI).
