The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) in Oregon made a long-term commitment to renewable energy with its purchase of 25 MW of wind power from the Stateline Wind Energy Center. EWEB signed a 25-year contract with PacifiCorp Power Marketing, Inc., owner of the output of the wind plant, which is located on the Washington-Oregon border.
EWEB’s wind power purchase will equal the annual energy needs of approximately 4,800 homes, or about 2.5% of the utility’s retail electricity requirement.
