Onsite Energy Corp. Announces Project

Onsite Energy Corporation recently announced a $3.6 million energy-efficiency project for the City of San Diego Police Department Headquarters.

The project will incorporate energy-efficiency measures designed to reduce consumption and solar photovoltaic and combined heat and power (CHP) systems that the company said would produce over 60 percent of the electricity that the building currently consumes. Onsite also said that it will deliver a turnkey energy-efficiency project that is projected to save the city approximately 1 million kWh of electricity and 11,000 therms per year of natural gas and a CHP project that is expected to generate 3.5 million kWh of electricity and produce thermal energy in the form of hot water and chilled water systems that will displace energy that otherwise would be provided by the building’s conventional systems.
