Oct. 4, 2002: Nordyne Rolls Out Maytag Products

O’FALLON, MO — Nordyne began production of its Maytag HVAC products in August 2002. The company will maintain a two-step distribution chain and is currently selecting distributors and dealers to carry the Maytag products.

Nordyne is offering two lines of Maytag products: the M1010 and M1000 Series. The Maytag M1010 Series carries a 10-year parts and labor warranty. The labor portion of the warranty will be based on street-rate reimbursement, or dealers can arrange for flat-rate reimbursement. The Maytag M1000 Series carries a 10-year parts warranty.

Both the M1010 and the M1000 product lines include split system air conditioners and heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, and packaged products. The company says that all products are designed for residential or light commercial use with attention paid to how an owner will use the products, and how easy they are to install and service.

“Our strategy is to bring quality products to the HVAC market with a brand that is already a household name. Maytag is one of the most recognized and well-respected consumer brands,” said Dennis Kloster, vice president, marketing and sales, residential and light commercial. “Our alliance with Maytag reinforces our commitment to manufacture quality products. We intend to redefine the expectations our consumers, dealers, and distributors have for HVAC products. This is why our Maytag series of products defines the premier class.”

Nordyne will market HVAC accessories under the Maytag name as well. Distributors and dealers will be able to sell Maytag-branded programmable thermostats, humidifiers, and electronic air cleaners as part of total home indoor comfort systems.
