Oct. 14, 2002: ACCA Launches Expanded Website

ARLINGTON, VA — The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has launched an expanded, enhanced website for the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration contracting industry at www.acca.org. The site, rebuilt from the ground up, replaces the trade association’s former Internet presence with a new resource.

ACCA says it has designed its website to be a 24-hour tool for contractors. In addition to breaking HVACR and ACCA news, the site includes special features for members, including articles and answers to questions on marketing and technical issues; an online directory of HVACR vocational programs; a products and services guide featuring associate members; and an improved contractor locator.

ACCA members will also be able to use the site to access the association's new MemberTools™ program, which provides a menu of marketing and management resources for contractors. An improved online store also features access to the full ACCA line of technical and management products at substantial member discounts. Members will also be able to access the weekly ACCA INSIDER newsletter, and a special weekly report from the Public Policy department.

"For contractors, homeowners, building managers, reporters, and students looking for information on HVACR on the Internet, the ACCA website is usually the first stop," said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA president and CEO. "With our new site, we seek to provide all of them with useful, and user-friendly, resources, while showing the world that ACCA and the HVACR contracting industry are on the leading edge of service."

New features and sections will be added to the ACCA website on a regular basis, including new consumer-related resources designed to help homeowners and building operators find and select quality contractors. ACCA says its site currently hosts over 50,000 users a month, making it one of the largest HVACR-related sites on the Internet. Many of the users are consumers, who are now able to more easily locate ACCA member contractors in their zip code areas.
