FALLS CHURCH, Va. - This year more than $102,000 in scholarships have been awarded through the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Educational Foundation. The scholarships were made possible by the following sponsors: American Standard Companies, A.O. Smith and State Water Heaters, Bradford White Corp., Delta Faucet Co., the PHCC Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund, and PHCC's past national officers. These scholarships are designed to provide educational opportunities to deserving students pursuing a major directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling (p-h-c) industry.

American Standard provided $10,000 to fund four scholarships which were awarded to: Philip D. Franco of Brooklyn Heights, Ohio; Ryan Ress of Hutchinsons, Minn.; Stephen J. Swanick of Huntersville, N.C.; and Jacob A. Tabor of Breaux Bridge, La.

The A.O. Smith Water Heaters $2,500 scholarship was awarded to Joseph S. Pung Jr. of Smith Creek, Mich., and the State Water Heaters $2,500 scholarship was awarded to Jonathan Wenderoth of West Mystic, Conn.

Bradford White Corp. provided $7,500 to fund three scholarships, which were awarded to: Ted Cramer of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Travis Allen Cochran of Springfield, Ohio; and John R. Kennan of Atlantic Heights, N.J.

Delta Faucet provided $15,000 to fund six scholarships, which were awarded to: Christopher Bell of Beverly, Mass.; Dustin Duval of Lafayette, La.; Kristopher Falkena of Hospers, Iowa; Robert King of Las Vegas; Steven Swade of Riverside, Ill.; and John Tinius of Lincoln, Neb.

The Educational Foundation provided $60,000 to fund scholarships awarded to: Christopher Bell of Beverly, Mass.; Erika Jon Glapinski, Hubertus, Wis.; Gabriel Ruiz, South Gate, Calif.; Jeffrey Smith, Long Grove, Ill.; Bruce K. Wenzlick, New Lothrop, Mich.; and Lee R. Wilson, Portageville, Mo.

The PHCC Past National Officers scholarship was awarded to Johnny J. Mendias III of Ft. Stockton, Texas.

Scholarships are available to students who are enrolled in (1) a PHCC-approved plumbing or HVACR apprenticeship program; (2) a full-time certificate or degree program at an accredited two-year community college, technical college, or trade school; or (3) a full-time undergraduate degree program at an accredited four-year college or university.
