WESTPORT, Conn. - The winning product entries in the third annual AHR Expo Innovation Awards have been announced. Products in eight categories were selected from 84 entries by a panel of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) members. The manufacturers will be honored at a special reception at the 2005 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) scheduled for Feb. 7–9 in Orlando, Fla.

The competition is sponsored by ASHRAE, the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), and International Exposition Company (IEC). Product categories include: building automation, heating, cooling, refrigeration, ventilation, indoor air quality, tools and instruments, and software. The products were judged for innovation, application, value to user, and market impact.

The 2005 winners are:

  • Building automation: IST Monitor from Invisible Service Technicians.

  • Heating: RC2100 Wireless Hydronic Controller from Trs Systems.

  • Cooling: Next Generation Copeland Scrollâ„¢ from Copeland.

  • Refrigeration: ICV Control Valve from Danfoss.

  • Ventilation: FLEX-GRIP 550 from Hardcast, Carlisle Coatings & Waterproofing.

  • Indoor air quality: H2O LiquidAire from Munters.

  • Tools and instruments: Cooling Tower Vacuum from Goodway Technologies.

  • Software: Right-Radiant Plusâ„¢ from Wrightsoft.
