NEMSI Bestows $2,000 In Student Awards

VERNON, Conn. — For the second year in a row, area trade school students have benefited from the generosity of the volunteers and participants of New England Mechanical Services Inc. (NEMSI’s) annual employee benefit golf tournament.

The NEMSI Student Award Program is directed at trade school juniors and seniors from Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island who are pursuing careers in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or sheet metal trades. Qualifying students were invited to apply for one of eight $250 tool grants. Successful applicants exhibited a dedication to their chosen trade, the ability to work as a part of a team, pride in their work, good attendance, and academic achievement.

This year’s recipients included HVAC and electrical students from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical School (Easton, Mass.), Oliver Wolcott Vocational Technical School (Torrington, Conn.), E.C. Goodwin Vocational Technical School (New Britain, Conn.), Emmett O’Brian Vocational Technical School (Ansonia, Conn.), Vinal Vocational Technical School (Middletown, Conn.), and Windham Vocational Technical School (Willimantic, Conn.).

Voted The News “Best Contractor To Work For” for the New England Region this year, NEMSI is part of EMCOR Group, Inc., a mechanical and electrical construction services and facilities services firm headquartered in Norwalk, Conn. For more information, visit www.nemsi.com or www.emcorgroup.com.
