A new electrochemical carbon monoxide (CO) gas sensor is for use in residential gas detectors and combined CO/fire units. The porous electrode technology results in high sensitivity and excellent overall signal stability, states the company. The company says that the three-electrode design of the NAP-505 ensures compliance with all relevant standards for residential CO detectors, such as UL 2034, CSA 16.9, and EN 50291. According to the company, the compact, approximately 0.315-inch (8-mm) design of the NAP-505 is the result of an electrolyte management system, which ensures the device will be leakproof throughout its working life.
