NATE Officers Elected

MCLEAN, VA — The North American Technician Excellence (NATE) board met in its first-ever teleconference board meeting. At the meeting, new officers for the board of trustees were elected.

The nominating committee presented a selection of nominees to the board. Those nominated as officers for 2002 were: Skip Snyder (The Snyder Company, Upper Darby, PA), chairman; Dave Pannier (The Trane Company, Tyler, TX), vice chairman; Randy Tice (APR Supply, Lebanon, PA), vice chairman; Adrian Minks (Omaha Public Power District, Omaha, NE), secretary/treasurer; and Fran Williams (F.A. Williams Inc., Belmont, MA), immediate past chairman.

The nominating committee also asked NATE president Rex Boynton to invite Tim Lawrence of Skills USA-VICA and Matt Michel of Decision Analysts to join the board of trustees. Lawrence will become second education representative and Michel will become research/educator advisor.

Finally, the board approved the creation of the Clifford H. “Ted” Rees Leadership Award to recognize superior leadership in forwarding the mission of supporting and encouraging techs. Rees was recognized for helping to establish and guide NATE.
