EAST PETERSBURG, Pa. - The National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers (NAOHSM) Tidewater Chapter in Norfolk, Va., teamed up again to complete a job under the Oil Heat Cares (OHC) program, this time to assist a local elderly person in need of a new heating system.

Phillips Energy, Hayes, Va., went to the home of Mrs. Watkins, whose original unit was installed in 1969 and located underneath her home. Phillips Energy dispatchers turned to OHC to see if they could spearhead a job for Mrs. Watkins. They talked to fellow chapter members Filmore Brinkley, E.T. Lawson, and Gene Vickhouse, of Cutting Edge Total Comfort, who agreed to help with the project.

Thanks to the employees of Phillips Energy and friendly competitors, Mrs. Watkins got a chance to be at the receiving end of goodwill. She has been known to assist her neighbors and the community beyond her own means in the past, so this project provided an opportunity for her to be recognized.

OHC is a not-for-profit foundation started by NAOHSM in 2005. It assists people and organizations throughout the country that need new oil heating equipment. OHC raises funds to purchase heating equipment and NAOHSM chapters identify those within their neighborhoods that most need help.
